Munich Touirst

The Munich tourist has much to see and do. Along with the many other sights in the historic centre, the Residenz and the Nymphenburg Palace are worth a visit. The former, situated on the north side of Max-Joseph-Platz, is the palace of the Bavarian rulers from 1385-1918. You can visit the Residenzmuseum, where around 130 rooms are on display, showing the treasures of the dynasty that lived there. Among the things to see are the Perseusbrunnen in the Grotto Court, the Antiquarium, the Ancestral Gallery, the Porcelain Chambers, and the Asian collections. Beside the Residenzmuseum there is also the Residence Treasury and the Old Residence Theatre, both well worth the entrance fee to see respectively, the vast array of jewellery and golden objects, and the lavish Rococo interior.
